Edge class vessels are sure to attract a more sophisticated, maybe even slightly older, crowd although this could be dependent on the itinerary. This ship also has made such a, forgive the pun, splash that it appeared to draw lots of first-time cruisers on my sailing. The mix of American and European travelers was obvious with multiple languages exclaiming their impressions of the exotic design spaces, which were unlike anything I had seen on most other ships. The Grand Plaza, which opens up from Deck 3-5, is definitely the main hub on Edge. There is a stage in the middle of the Martini Bar, with lots of music throughout the day.
Another new dining-entertainment concept is "Eden" (bar-lounge-restaurant). "Le Grand Bistro" (Atrium-located dining area/cafeteria) serves French cuisine. The Club is another new (dual-purpose) venue with a large dance floor, a stage for live performances, a giant LED screen and served by its own 2 bars. During the day, The Club offers fun activities and games (including Funovation Laser Maze Challenge, Drone Hunting, laser obstacle course, dance classes, trivia).
With a spiral walkway around the outside -- an homage to the Fibonacci Sequence -- it also encompasses a bar with creative drinks, a gratis lunchtime deli and a pricey restaurant that's open for dinner. Celebrity Edge is geared towards mid-30s and up, and the featured entertainment reflects that. From late afternoon onwards, the Grand Plaza has back-to-back sets of singers and bands, energetically ramping up to late night DJs. By day, The Club is the venue for tame games, pub quizzes, and singalongs until 10 p.m., at which time dancers and acrobats get the adults-only party going. Oceanview Café, the complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, is a generous spread. After drinks at the Pool Bar or Sunset Bar at the rear of the ship, the Martini Bar at the heart of the Grand Plaza is where the action starts before things move to The Club, where dancers and acrobats ignite the party. At any given time around the ship, there are singers or musicians, everything from intimate one-person acoustic sets to five-piece bands. For a low-key experience, escape the crowds in calm, loungey mixology-driven Eden Bar. All rooms have an oversized flatscreen TV, luxurious bedding, and Celebrity Edge-series’ signature Cashmere Mattress, which are a dream. Water pressure is excellent, and hot water comes within seconds.
Eden is a 3-deck high (aft-location on decks 4, 5, 6) lounge-bar-restaurant venue with live music and shows programming changing throughout the day. Eden Lounge measures m3 ( ft3) and covers a total area of 1175 m2 (12650 ft2). Lawn Deck is equipped with real grass and the vessel has more deck chairs than others, offering a calm atmosphere under the sun. The Celebrity iLounge gives guests computer tutorial classes and is also a representative of Apple, providing access to the most affordable Mac products available at duty-free prices.
